At ACACIA Investigations, we are a team of highly skilled and experienced fire and explosion investigation specialists, dedicated to uncovering the truth and delivering justice. Our name is derived from the acacia tree, a symbol of discovery and truth in ancient legend, which reflects our commitment to uncovering the facts in even the most complex cases.

Our Team

Our team is composed of former law enforcement officials, fire marshals, and firefighters, all of whom are certified fire investigators with the International Association of Arson Investigators. Our combined experience and expertise allow us to provide the highest level of service and professionalism to our clients.

Roger A. Baxter, our current owner, retired from the Connecticut State Police as a Detective, after spending nineteen of his twenty-five years with the State Police, in the Office of the State Fire Marshal-Bureau Investigation and Enforcement Unit as a Senior Fire Investigator. Roger is also an Accelerant Detection Canine Handler and the lead instructor and Assistant Program Coordinator for the annual Advanced Fire Investigation School conducted by the Connecticut State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit.

Michael R. Grasso, a former law enforcement official, has extensive experience in firefighting, fire code, and fire investigation. Thomas J. Madigan is a Lieutenant and EMT with the Braintree, MA Fire Department and has also provided instruction to the fire community. Wayne A. Opdenbrouw is a Firefighter/Paramedic and Deputy Fire Marshal, with fifteen years of experience in fire and explosion investigation.
